Welcome to East 9th Street Eats, the dedicated food site to my “main” blog, East 9th Street. When I started blogging in 2010, I never thought I would be blogging about food. I had always enjoyed cooking but never considered myself a good cook until friends and family started asking me for recipes. It only made sense to start sharing them on my blog and officially call myself a “food blogger”. Hopefully you find some recipes you love and stick around for a while. And in case you’re wondering what this site is really about, hopefully the questions below will answer that!
Who is behind East 9th Street Eats?
That would be me. Sarah. I’m a single mom and have a 6-year old daughter who is a chef-in-training. She loves to bake and create in the kitchen, I love to eat. It’s a great combination. We have 2 dogs, a 10 year old and 9 year old lab. By day I work as a manager for a medical practice, at night I’m a blogging rock star, at least in my head that is. 🙂
What kind of recipes will I find on this site?
Like most moms, I don’t have a lot of time to prepare meals for my family. I like to make recipes that are relatively quick, don’t require a ton of fancy ingredients and are somewhat healthy. However, that doesn’t mean that everyone now and then I’ll be sharing recipes that are little bit more complex or that I can’t make from the ingredients in my pantry. I like to make blended recipes – recipes that use fresh ingredients with some convenience foods.
What other stuff will you blog about?
This site is dedicated to all things food. That means restaurant reviews as well a fun gadgets that I like to use in the kitchen. I’m a Hamilton Beach Ambassador and that means super cool appliances!
